Attic Living…
November 15th, 2010 § 42 Comments
They are often the most overlooked, groaned-about spaces in a home, but, when revamped properly, those attic spaces, complete with their slanted roofs and sometimes low ceilings, can, with a little imagination, become the most fabulous rooms in any home. Whether for a kids’ playroom, an extra guest bed, an office, or that much sought-after room of one’s own, these small spaces can pack a mean decorative punch. My own attic space (which came complete with green indoor-outdoor carpet!) started as a headache but quickly morphed into one of my favorite rooms in the house. Yours can too! We hope these images give you a little inspiration for your Monday!

Yup, we all seem to have issues with our attic. It seems to be the last room of our house we take care of! Imagine having such a cosy nook like the one in the last pic! Thanks for this great selection!

there’s just something so sweet and romantic about these attic makeovers … like a little girl’s dream all grown up and beautiful
There is something so special about attic spaces. I’m not sure if it brings out the child in me or the old lady but they can feel quite magical. As if you are hiding from the world. I saw a t.v. show once about a family that build a replica of their mother’s house in the attic. You even entered through a front door with a porch. You have confirmed how much I’d love a fabulous attic space for myself. Thank you for commenting on my blog. I appreciate it and so happy to have discovered yours!
I love the first image and the plaryoom one from decorpad is fabulous!
Can’t tell you how much I love these. I grew up in a Cape so eaved rooms hold a special appeal for me. I remember seeing that first room at Kips Bay several years ago and just loved it!! Great post!
Wow! I never thougth attic spaces could look that good! I am absolutley in love with the third image down…it would be serene to have a space like that.

Attic living is so cozy. I also heard it is one of the best ways to add appeal to the resale of a home..and not break the bank.
