Things We Love: Garden Seats
Sure, they might be called garden seats, but these stylish, durable seats are perfect for dreaming the day away outdoors and in — even in the shower, as this Architectural Digest photo demonstrates. Designer Twila Wilson must have envisioned a leisurely shower when she put this modern, angular garden seat in this bath. Who needs one of those built-in benches, when you can have a seating area that adds so much style? This Angular Ceramic Garden Seat can give your bathroom — or any spot in your house, really — the same look. If I had that view out my shower window, I’d sit and stay a while too.

This entrance hall, featured in Veranda, shows that you can still have a great space to display flowers (or set your morning coffee) even when you don’t have enough room for a full-fledged table. This seat, similar to the Lattice Garden Stool, is a perfect complement to the casually chic furniture and mirror.

This serene garden with its tranquil pool looks like the perfect place to relax and recharge. But, let’s face it, those teak loungers don’t come with a cup holder. And all that relaxing can make you thirsty! These unique garden seats, similar to this Garden Stool, hand-picked by one Ms. Phoebe Howard, add an element of design to this idyllic space, without being so overpowering that they take away from the pristine landscape.

Even a room with a Baby Grand — and a butler — looks a little better when you bring in a surprising element. These garden seats, similar to the Bongo Ceramic Garden Seat, chosen by designer Diane Gordy and featured in Home and Design Magazine, are the perfect size end table for putting beside a club chair. Plus, they’re a chic way to pull together this seating area.

This mismatched set of garden seats lends the practicality of having a place to set your cocktail to this funky and fun outdoor living room. We love them both, but the one on the left is a look you can borrow for your own home. It’s similar to the Lotus Ceramic Stool. This room was designed by Celerie Kemble.
