There is nothing more comforting or relaxing than spending a lazy day daydreaming in a hammock. Whether you’re by the pool, beside the ocean or simply in your own back yard, a late afternoon nap in a hammock is nothing less than restorative.

What’s even better is that, on top of being a mini-vacation, these hammocks are fantastic looking and can serve as a crucial design element in any outdoor space. There’s nowhere that calls for a hammock more than a beach house porch, like this one, from the Coastal Living idea house. We love how the designers stuck with a traditional rope hammock, adding excitement with nautically inspired, red and white pillows. The classic Original Pawley’s Island Hammock Presidential is hard to beat if you’re looking for that basic, hold-up-in-any-weather hammock.

We might not all be able to have our own pier with a hammock over the ocean, but we can all have our own hammock that’s the colors of the sea — and for a steal! We found the fabulous blue and white stripe hammock, similar to the one above photographed by Colleen Duffley for Coastal Living.
